How do configure alarms for PDUs?
The console server Alert facility monitors the status of serially and network connected PDUs, and the status of any temperature and humidity sensors that may be located in the PDU.
You can set trigger conditions for the current load of the PDU (or the load on specific PDU outlets - if supported) and warning/critical conditions for temperature/humidity. If an alert event is triggered, a notification is emailed to a nominated email address or SMS gateway, an SNMP trap is sent or a Nagios server is notified.
- To add an PDU alert select Alerts & Logging: Alerts and click Add Alert
- Enter a Description for the new alert you are configuring and nominate the email address for the Email Recipient and/or SMS Recipient be notified (or set up the Nagios/SNMP server to be notified)
- Specify which Sensor Type this trigger level applies to (Temperature, Humidity or Power Load)
- Set the High and/or Low Set Points at which Critical alerts and/or Warning alerts are to be sent (Power Load is in "Amps", Temperature is set in "Degrees Centigrade" and Humidity as a "Percentage"). You also can set the Hysteresis to be applied before resetting these alerts.
- Specify the applicable RPC(s) and/or the applicable RPC outlet(s) this alert is to be applied to
- To activate these alarms click Apply
