What TCP/UDP ports/services can be forwarded with SDT (Connector)? All Opengear console servers support secure remote management of local network-connected computers or devices (Hosts) using SSH tunneling (port forwarding). When configuring the IP pathway that will be used to access these Hosts, the Administrator specifies which services (i.e.which TCP and UDP port numbers) will be permitted to be used in controlling this Host. Only these permitted services (TCP/UDP ports) will be forwarded by the SDT server in the console server on to the Host. These permission constraints apply to both User and Administrator access to the Host, and any service (TCP/UDP port) that has not been specifically permitted will be blocked.
By default TCP ports 22(Telnet), 23(ssh), 80(http), 443(https), 3389(rdp) and 5590(vnc) are set up as permitted. However permission can be removed for any of these services. Also any other service (TCP port or UDP port) can be permitted to be port forwarded by SDT to the specified Host. Once configured SDTConnector is then able to direct the console server to port forward all traffic on the permitted TCP/UDP port to the attached Host.
